Georges St-Pierre
Georges "Rush" St-Pierre, also known as “GSP,” is a Canadian professional mixed martial artist and UFC world champion who holds black belts in both Kyokushin karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

After seeing Royce Gracie fight in 1993 at UFC 1, Georges knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life and how he was going to reach those goals: he invested all his energy and all his time at becoming a better version of himself. He added fighting disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to his karate background and competed in his first amateur bout at age 16. He won that match, and continued his steady improvement. In 2006 he became the UFC Welterweight Champion. He lost the title in 2007 but subsequently regained it in front of his hometown fans of Montreal in 2008 and hasn’t lost a single title defense since then.

Georges retired from the sport on December 13, 2013, holding the UFC record for most wins in title bouts and then returned to the octagon after a four-year layoff, on November 4, 2017 at UFC 217 in New York City (Madison Square Garden), where he defeated Michael Bisping by submission in the third round to win the UFC Middleweight Championship title, becoming the fourth fighter in the history of the organization to be a multi-division champion.

On December 7, 2017, after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, Georges vacated his UFC middleweight title and officially announced his retirement from professional MMA competition on February 21, 2019.

The Integration of Striking

The purpose of this seminar is to first recognize and review our style of striking that Grand Master Norris and the pioneers of our system perfected in competition from our inception.  Secondly, we will integrate Kickboxing, boxing, and Muay Thai with CNS techniques to add complexity to your striking arsenal.  Lastly, we will add point sparring as a means of transportation to deliver this skill set to our opponent, trapping to isolate the opponent and throws from Judo and wrestling to finish the opponent.

Mr. Stinson is a 6th-degree black belt under the CNS system.  He has trained in multiple systems in his martial arts career including BJJ, Muay Thai, and boxing.  This seminar will be new to some and refreshing to others as we visit these systems and intertwine them as a means of self-defense.  With fun but challenging drills, you will leave the seminar excited for more.  Please remember to bring sparring gear including shin pads and hand targets if you have them.

Bunkai: Practical Application of Traditional Technique

Not only will we look at some of the katas on the black belt testing sheet, but we will also pick them apart and study the practical application of the techniques within them.

Sometimes it's not what it seems. I want this class to provide new insight on how to drill katas. Not only will it give you a deeper understanding but it will also provide hand-to-hand drills to practice, making katas more enjoyable for all to learn.
Sometimes drilling katas will make students ask about the purpose of particular techniques. Whereas some answers to these questions are obvious, others are a bit more obscure. This class is designed to give answers to your students' questions.

Come with an open mind and this class will be an enjoyable and eye-opening experience.
